Six-month-old Afroza is a cheerful and affectionate baby who lives with her parents in a small rented tin-shed house. Her father earns only 8,000 BDT per month, which barely covers rent and daily necessities, leaving no savings for unexpected medical emergencies. After a few days of cough and fever, her condition worsened into severe pneumonia, causing breathing difficulties that required urgent hospital admission. Without timely treatment, her illness could become life-threatening and seriously endanger her young life. The family learned about Helpster Charity from community members and another patient’s guardian at Narayanganj Poly Clinic, and they are now seeking support to ensure Afroza receives the urgent care she needs.

Afroza 6 month-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few months, but this time, her condition worsened as she developed severe pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, her health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, she received critical care at Narayanganj Polyclinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Afroza was admitted on 25/1/26, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 30/1/26. Now, after receiving the care she needed, Afroza is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, her parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and Narayanganj Polyclinic; we are forever grateful for your support!"

Doctors have explained that hospitalization with antibiotics, nebulization, and supportive therapy will help clear the infection, reduce inflammation in the lungs, and improve the child’s breathing. With proper and timely treatment, the child is expected to make a full recovery and continue normal growth and development without long-term complications. Careful monitoring in the hospital will also prevent the infection from worsening or spreading. However, if left untreated, severe pneumonia could quickly lead to respiratory failure, serious complications, or even become life-threatening. Early and complete treatment is therefore essential to protect the child’s life and future health.
