Maryam Ali Mustapha is a 12-year-old girl from a displaced family living in an IDP camp, who enjoys reading and dreams of becoming a doctor. She was brought to the hospital with a 5-day history of high fever, chills, abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea, headache, and weakness, leaving her lethargic and unable to eat well. Tests confirmed malaria infection and typhoid fever. She was diagnosed with acute malaria with typhoid fever and started on intravenous antimalarial treatment, antibiotics, fluids, nutritional support, and close monitoring under medical assistance.

After falling seriously ill with fever, diarrhea,abdominal pain and headache, MARYAM struggled to keep up with school and daily life. Her family, worried and without enough money for treatment, turned to Helpster Charity for support. Thanks to Helpster Charity, she was evaluated and investigated in UMD hospital and diagnosed with ACUTE PLASMODIASIS. She was admitted and had antimalarial drugs,intravenous fluids with other supportive treatment in the hospital for 3 days. Slowly, she recovered, symptoms subsided, and she regained her strength. She was discharged home with her parents, and she can enjoy his childhood and return to school. Maryam is experiencing fever, loss of appetite, general body weakness, and vomiting.She was seen and evaluated at UMD medical clinic,She appears moderately dehydrated and very uncomfortable. Prompt treatment of acute malaria, possibly complicated by typhoid fever, is crucial to prevent serious complications and significantly improve her health status. Treatment of severe Plasmodiasis have good prognosis and health status will significantly improve to enable her to return back to school for her studies.
