Hafsat A., 9

Hafsat Abubakar is a 9-year-old girl from a semi-urban community who loves drawing and playing with her friends, and dreams of becoming a nurse. She suddenly developed high fever, chills, weakness, and poor appetite for two days, becoming less active than usual. Tests confirmed acute malaria. She was started on antimalarial treatment with supportive care, including fluids and nutritional support, under assistance.

After falling seriously ill with fever, diarrhea,abdominal pain and headache, HAFSAT struggled to keep up with school and daily life. Her family, worried and without enough money for treatment, turned to Helpster Charity for support. Thanks to Helpster Charity, she was evaluated and investigated in UMD hospital and diagnosed with ACUTE PLASMODIASIS. She was admitted and had antimalarial drugs,intravenous fluids with other supportive treatment in the hospital for 3 days. Slowly, she recovered, symptoms subsided, and she regained her strength. She was discharged home with her parents, and she can enjoy his childhood and return to school. Hafsat is experiencing fever, loss of appetite, general body weakness, and vomiting.She was seen and evaluated at UMD medical clinic and diagnosed with acute malaria.She appears moderately dehydrated and very uncomfortable. Prompt treatment of acute malaria, is crucial to prevent serious complications. Treatment of acute Plasmodiasis have good prognosis and health status will significantly improve to enable her to return back to school for her studies.
