Fatima Lawan Kyari is a 15-year-old girl from a semi-urban community with limited access to healthcare. She presented with a 5-day history of lower abdominal pain, fever, malaise, nausea, vomiting, dysuria, poor appetite, and fatigue. On examination, she was ill-looking, febrile, and had marked lower abdominal tenderness. Ultra sound scan done revealed a pelvic abscess which requires urgent surgical drainage and intravenous antibiotic therapy, along with supportive care including hydration, analgesics, and close monitoring.

MEDICAL REPORT INRESPECT OF FATIMA LAWAN KYARI,an 15-year-old teenager, presented with a history of persistent lower abdominal pain,fever with general body weakness accompanied by nausea and vomiting since one week. After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with Pelvic abscess.She underwent successful EX.LAP surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, She was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care.She recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, She is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.

Fatima is suffering from a pelvic abscess is a localized collection of pus in the pelvis, which can have particularly severe complications in young patients. This causes severe discomfort and can cause sepsis and severe peritonitis if the abscess cavity ruptures spilling all the pus into the pelvic and abdominal cavity, can also cause fistula formation. Fatima was diagnosed with a confirmed pelvic abscess, identified via ultrasound as a localized collection of infected fluid within the pelvic cavity, likely caused by a bacterial infection. She is currently exhibiting clinical signs consistent with an intra-abdominal infectious process, including lower abdominal pain, fever, general body weakness and localized tenderness. PROGNOSIS: The overall prognosis is generally favorable, provided the abscess is adequately drained and appropriate antibiotics are administered. With timely and effective treatment, her health is expected to significantly improve, allowing her to regain her normal health status.
