Usman Sa’idu is a curious and active 12-year-old boy who enjoys sports, games, and creative activities like drawing or reading. He dreams of a bright future, possibly as a doctor, teacher, or athlete, and shows resilience and optimism despite his current health challenge. Usman Sa’idu developed a vesical (bladder) stone, which caused lower abdominal pain, difficulty urinating, straining, poor urine flow, and intermittent blood in the urine over the past two weeks. He had no fever or other major symptoms and was otherwise healthy before this. Currently, he is moderately ill but stable, with a firm suprapubic mass, and a cystolithotomy (surgical removal of the stone) is planned pending approval.

Usman, a 12-year-old boy, was admitted on the 13/12/2025 with a bladder stone and underwent a successful cystolithotomy (surgical removal of the bladder stone). He received appropriate postoperative care, pain management, and close medical monitoring. After three days in the hospital, Usman recovered well. His pain resolved, he was able to urinate normally, and he was discharged home in good condition, free from symptoms and able to resume his normal daily activities. Usman has a bladder stone, causing lower abdominal pain, difficulty and straining during urination, poor urine flow, and occasional blood in the urine. Untreated bladder stones can cause chronic infections and severe pain by constantly irritating the bladder wall. If a stone blocks the flow of urine entirely, it can lead to permanent kidney damage or a life-threatening bloodstream infection called sepsis. The doctor’s prognosis is good, with prompt surgical removal of the bladder stone (cystolithotomy) should resolve Usman’s symptoms and prevent complications. If left untreated, the stone could cause worsening pain, urinary obstruction, infections, or kidney damage.
