Kadisha is a 13 year old female child, she is in the 3rd year of her secondary education. She wishes to become a nurse when she graduates. Her single mother is the one who is taking care of them. She has been struggling to provide for them as they face difficulty in the current economy. They live in a 2 rooms apartment, they make use of water from the well for their daily activities and have access to electricity. Kadisha a 13 year old female girl presented with complaints of fever, abdominal pain, low appetite and severe headache. On examination, a teenage girl looking ill with bitemporal headache of 5 days duration, abdominal pain, fever, low appetite. It started suddenly and became persistent and intense, pyrexia (38.8o C), anicteric, acyanosed, and not pale. After a thorough examination and laboratory investigations for malaria and Typhoid, she was diagnosed with Severe Malaria and Enteric fever.

It started suddenly and became persistent and intense, pyrexia (38.8o C), unicteric, acyanosed, and not pale. She was diagnosed with Severe Malaria and Enteric fever. Prompt management of patient with potent antimalarials, appropriate antibiotics, adequate hydration, and close monitoring was given to reduce pains and ensure stability. Patient did well on medication and was discharged, she is return for follow up after 1 week. The mother is grateful for medical support given by Helpster Charity and team.

Kadisha is a 13 year old female girl with complaints of fever, abdominal pain, low appetite and severe headache. We admitted her upon confirmation of severe malaria and enteric fever and urgently commenced treatment. Prompt management with potent antimalarials, appropriate antibiotics, adequate hydration, and close monitoring is essential to reduce morbidity and mortality. Prognosis is good with early and appropriate treatment.
