Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Hassan a 3 year old boy who dream to become a lecturer to advocate especially on his village. Amshi he is the second born of the family and he lives with his parents at Amshi village. Family income is 3000, they use pit latrine and well water. Hassan was brought to Ayaji hospital who has been unwell for one week (1/52) prior to being admitted to the hospital. The primary complaints are high-grade fever and headache. The fever was accompanied by chills and rigors (shivering/shaking). There were no seizures, and the child was previously healthy with no past history of similar illnesses. He was given over the counter antimalarials and antibiotics, but his condition did not improve before coming to our hospital for treatment. On presentation, Hassan was thoroughly examined and investigations confirmed a diagnosis of Severe Malaria.

Medical history

Three-year-old Hassan was admitted on 05/03/2026 with severe malaria and was successfully treated with a full course of appropriate intravenous antimalarial medication. He showed an excellent clinical response, achieving complete stability and symptom resolution over his two-day hospital stay. Hassan was safely discharged on 07/03/2026 with a tailored pediatric recovery plan and scheduled outpatient follow-up.

Prognosis

Hassan has a high-grade fever and headache lasting for one week (1/52). The presence of "chills and rigors" (shivering/shaking) often points toward a systemic infection. the patient visited "many patent medical stores" with no improvement. This suggests that the initial over-the-counter treatments were insufficient for the severity of the infection. Prognosis The prognosis the likely course of the disease for a 3-year-old with these symptoms depends heavily on how quickly they respond to the hospital’s intravenous (IV) or supervised medications.
