Shanice is a cheerful, active, and friendly 1-year-old girl who lives with her mother in a remote rural community. She enjoys playing, interacting with people around her, and exploring her surroundings. Her mother relies on small-scale farming as the family's only source of income, but the earnings are barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, making it difficult to afford medical care whenever Shanice becomes ill. Shanice was brought to the hospital with a two-day history of persistent cough, high fever, difficulty breathing, poor feeding, excessive crying, and progressive weakness. Her mother reported that she had become less active and was unable to feed well because of her illness. Clinical examination and laboratory investigations confirmed a diagnosis of severe pneumonia complicated by dehydration. Owing to the severity of her condition and the risk of life-threatening complications, she was admitted for close monitoring, intravenous treatment, supportive care, and further medical management.

Shanice brought to the facility by her mother with history of; Coughing, difficult in breathing, loss of appetite, general body weakness and crying a lot. On examination and laboratory investigation, she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and dehydration. Was admitted and given; I.v Xpen, I.v Gentamicin, I.v paracetamol and Oxygen therapy for few days and recovered gradually and discharged home when stabilized.
