Farida is a typical 14-year-old student who was previously healthy and active. She likely enjoys normal activities like school, playing with friends, and simple hobbies, and her main dream is to stay healthy, succeed in her education, and have a bright future. The family does not have electricity, use community bore-hole, and no proper latrine. The family income is 14,000 Naira. Farida, a 14-year-old child, developed right-sided flank pain about 5 days ago, which gradually became colicky and spread to her lower abdomen. This was accompanied by painful urination, blood in urine, and frequent urination, indicating a urinary problem. Investigations showed a stone in her right kidney (right nephrolithiasis), which is the cause of her symptoms. Currently, she is stable but still experiencing symptoms, and she is planned for surgery (nephrolithotomy) to remove the kidney stone.

The patient was admitted with a kidney stone and underwent a successful nephrolithotomy (surgical removal of the kidney stone). Following the procedure, postoperative care included pain management, close medical monitoring, and assessment to ensure complete stone removal. After a smooth recovery, the patient was discharged on 06/06/2026 in stable condition. The pain and urinary symptoms resolved, and the patient was able to return home with follow-up instructions and is expected to resume normal daily activities. Farida is suffering from Kidney stone which causes intense pain (back, side, groin), nausea, vomiting, and blood in the urine, disrupting daily life; if untreated, they can lead to severe infections, blocked urine flow, and long-term kidney damage. Removal of the kidney stone is the best treatment option at this point due to the size of the stone, which some of them are too large to pass through the urethra. The surgery is expected to have a good prognosis, as farida does not have any underlying conditions that could interfere with the procedure.
