Mustapha is a 4 months old male infant who is currently staying with his parents. The father is not currently having a job and the mother is a petty trader. They are struggling to provide for the family. They live in a 2 rooms apartment having a pit toilet and they have access to electricity. They use water from the borehole for their daily activities. The family income of 1500 is barely enough to sustain them hence they are in need of aid s. A 4-month-old male infant on exclusive who well until four days ago when he suddenly developed catarrh with cough which later affected his breathing. Two days later, he came with high grade fever (38.6o C) associated with irritation and loss of appetite. On presentation, examination revealed a very ill male infant, warm to touch, with flaring, nasal discharge, fast breathing, not jaundiced, not cyanosed. He was diagnosed with severe Pneumonia and Malaria. The family are poor and could not pay for the bills, they reached out looking for help that is why they contacted Helpster Charity. The child was admitted and properly evaluated.

He was diagnosed with severe Pneumonia and Malaria. On admission, patient was managed with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics and other supportive care, patient was monitored until stable, fever stopped and temperature was normalized with some antipyretics, he was discharged with some home medications to be returned after one week for follow up. The family are happy and extended gratitude to Helpster Charity and team.

Mustaphar is diagnosed with Severe pneumonia and malaria which caused him significant ill health, hence requiring urgent admission and medical treatment. This combined infection increases the risk of dehydration, seizures, metabolic derangement, circulatory collapse, and multi-organ dysfunction. The appear toxic, lethargic, and unable to feed or maintain hydration. Prompt diagnosis is vital due to overlapping symptoms. Management includes intravenous antimalarials, broad-spectrum antibiotics, oxygen therapy, fluids, fever control, and close monitoring to prevent complications and improve survival. Prognosis is good with early and appropriate treatment.
