Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Adamu Muhammad is an 18-year-old boy living with his mother at Garejin Biri, Gashu'a and he previously attended Qur’anic school at Tsangayan Malam Yakubu but had to stop due to severe pain caused by sickle cell disease. He is the fifth child in a family of seven, living in a temporary mud house under the care of his mother and an uncle since the death of their father five years ago. His mother, who works at Gidan Biski and earns an average of ₦10,000 monthly is solely responsible for supporting the family despite her limited income. Adamu dreams of recovering his health so he can return to school and complete his memorization of the Holy Qur’an. Adamu Muhammad is an 18-year-old student from Gashu'a whose severe sickle cell pain forced him to drop out of his Qur’anic studies. Since his father’s passing, he has lived in a mud house with his mother, who miraculously supports eleven children on a tiny monthly income. His only dream is to recover so he can finish memorizing the Holy Qur’an, but his family cannot afford the medical care he needs to survive; consequently, they have reached out to Helpster Charity for urgent assistance. Diagnosis - Sickle Cell Crisis (VOC)

Medical history

Adamu Muhammad, an 18-year-old with sickle cell disease, received medical care including pain management, medication, and regular follow-up after his condition worsened and affected his education. With consistent treatment and support, his pain episodes reduced and his overall health gradually improved despite his family’s financial challenges. He is currently continuing treatment and working toward full recovery so he can return to school and resume his Qur’an memorization.

Prognosis

Adamu Muhammed an 18-year-old male was admitted with high-grade fever and severe leg pain lasting about five days, associated with swelling of the legs and hands. He was diagnosed with vaso-occlusive crisis due to sickle cell disease, complicated by malaria-induced anemia, and received appropriate medical treatment. Appropriate investigations and medical interventions is necessary to manage the pain crisis. With proper treatment, regular medical follow-up, and prevention of malaria infections, the patient's condition is manageable, and recovery from the current crisis is expected. However, because sickle cell disease is a lifelong condition, there is a possibility of future crises, especially if infections like malaria occur, so continuous care and preventive measures are important.
