Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Ibrahim is an 8 year old boy from a low-income family with poor access to clean water and sanitation. They all rely on home remedies due to financial constraint. His father is a water vendor while his mother makes hat and sell it to support the family. Ibrahim is the 2nd child who lives his parent and 3 siblings. He dream of becoming a military personnel in the future. He was apparently well until 3 weeks ago she started having prolonged fever, abdominal pain, and general weakness, initially managed at home with home remedies. Over time, the abdominal pain became more severe and persistent, with associated diarrhea, vomiting and generalized body weakness. His condition gradually deteriorated over several days. He was eventually brought to the hospital when symptoms became more severe. At UMD, he was investigated and diagnosed to have Typhoid fever. Treatment commenced with antibiotics, painkillers and fluid rehydration.
Prognosis
Patient was admitted and treatment commenced with intravenous fluids, antibiotics and other supportive treatment. He has recovered fully as his symptoms disappeared and he was discharged home. The prognosis for enteric fever is usually good with timely intervention and appropriate medication. If left untreated, he can develop intestinal perforation, severe dehydration and sepsis which can be life threatening.
