Bulama L., 17

Bulama is a 17 year old student from a low income household. His father is a petty trader, and his mother is a homemaker. They have a large family of eight children, and resources are limited. He is generally reserved,he dream of becoming a humanitarian worker in the future so that he can help his parent and siblings. He was referred from a nearby facility with the history of difficulty passing urine, which was initially mild straining. Eventually ,the urinary stream became weak, and he developed discomfort in the lower abdomen. The family delayed seeking medical attention due to financial constraints until he developed urinary retention, prompting referral to Helpster. At UMD,an indwelling bladder stone was confirmed.He was planned for elective surgery with post operative treatment if his case is approved.

Bulama,a 17 year-old Male presented with a history of Oliguria ,dysuria, accompanied by lower back pain. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he was diagnosed with Cystolithiasis(bladder stone).He underwent successful Cystolithotomy surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Ummita recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, he is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed his regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.

Bulama is facing on and off urinary retention,this happens when the stone blocks the outlet of the bladder interfering with normal urine flow causing pain and restlessness. Urgent surgery is recommended to relieve his symptoms and avert potential complications.With surgery he will have a favorable outcome and his situation will significantly improved.
