The family relies on water from a nearby stream and uses a pit latrine. Despite these challenges, Precious is responsible, caring, and hardworking, often helping with chores and looking after her younger siblings. She enjoys simple activities like playing with friends and dreams of getting an education to improve her family’s future. According to her mother, Precious was well until four days prior when she developed high fever, dizziness, and poor appetite. Due to financial constraints, they first sought help from a chemist, but her condition worsened. On the way to seek care, a Helpster beneficiary advised them to visit Bulondo Health Centre, assuring support. On arrival, she had high fever and convulsions, requiring urgent admission and treatment.

Precious was admitted at Bulondo Health Centre with severe malaria and febrile convulsions, where she received immediate medical attention. The treatment process involved administration of intravenous antimalarial drugs to clear the infection, medications to control the high fever, and anticonvulsants to manage and prevent further convulsions. She was closely monitored by healthcare providers, given fluids, and supported with proper nutrition as her condition stabilized.

Precious presented with severe febrile illness complicated by convulsions, likely due to an underlying infection. Her high fever, dizziness, poor feeding, and seizure episodes indicated a serious condition requiring urgent admission and close monitoring. She will be managed with antipyretics, anticonvulsants, appropriate antimicrobial therapy, and supportive care, including hydration and monitoring of vital signs.
