Powel is the first-born and only child, living with his mother, two cousins, and grandmother in a one-bedroom mud-walled house without electricity. HE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT HE WAS GIVEN AND HIS CONDITION IMPROVED. HE WAS THEN DISCHARGED HOME ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO COMPLETE AT HOME.

Powel is critically ill with severe malaria and severe pneumonia with bronchospasms, both of which can rapidly compromise breathing and overall health. Immediate treatment with antimalarials, antibiotics, bronchodilators, and supportive care is essential. With prompt and adequate management, he is likely to improve. Close monitoring is required to prevent complications such as respiratory failure. The prognosis is cautiously good.
