Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Yeasin Arafat is a 5-year-old boy who lives with his parents, elder brother, and elderly grandparents in a small tin-made house in rural Chandpur. His father works as a farmer on other people's land and earns around BDT 9,000 per month, which is barely enough to support the family's daily needs, making the cost of eye surgery impossible to afford. Despite his visual impairment, Yeasin is a cheerful and affectionate child who dreams of going to school like his elder brother and enjoys spending time with his family. His parents became deeply concerned as his vision continued to worsen, leaving him increasingly dependent on others for everyday activities. Without timely treatment, the congenital cataracts in both eyes may lead to permanent blindness, severely affecting his education, development, independence, and future opportunities. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akhter, Counselor of the Pediatric Unit at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, and Helpster Volunteer Md. Al Amin.
Medical history
Yeasin Arafat, a 5-year-old boy, required urgent cataract surgery in the both eyes as the condition was significantly affecting vision development at this early age. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia on 18.04.2026 at Right eye and on 22.08.2026 at Left Eye by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The treatment progressed smoothly, with the medical team carefully monitoring him during and after surgery. As healing began, he showed steady improvement, responding well to the treatment plan. The cataract removal successfully restored clarity, and visual acuity improved remarkably. Now he feels much more comfortable and can see clearly, which will greatly support healthy visual growth. This positive outcome has brought immense relief and joy to the family. Special thanks go to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes for their generous support in helping the child regain vision in the operated eyes.
Prognosis
According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant at the hospital, Yeasin urgently requires Cataract Surgery under General Anesthesia, along with implantation of a Secondary Intraocular Lens in both eyes. The doctor strongly believes that if the surgery is performed promptly, Yeasin has a high chance of regaining functional vision, allowing him to grow, learn, and live a normal life like other children. The total cost of the surgery and follow-up treatment is approximately BDT 81,000, which is far beyond the financial capacity of Yeasin’s family. Your support can transform his life, allowing him to see the world, attend school, and build a brighter future.
