Abubakar is a 5 year old male child staying with his parents in a small community in Bauchi State. He is the 3rd among 4 children, the father is a farmer and the mother is a house wife. They find it very hard to provide for the family. They live in a 2 rooms apartment with a pit toilet, they use borehole water, no access to electricity. They don't have a monthly savings. Abubakar is a 5-year-old male child who presented with complaints of headache, abdominal pain, insomnia, fever of 1 day duration, dry cough, retrosternal chest pain, runny nose, poor appetite and dysuria. On examination, a 5-year-old male child, ill looking, febrile with temperature 38.1o C, anicteric, acyanosed, palor, tachypneic. He was diagnosed with severe malaria and acute cystitis. The family couldn't take him to the hospital because they cannot afford it.

Abubakar is a 5-year-old male child who presented with complaints of headache, abdominal pain, insomnia, fever of 1 day duration, dry cough, retrosternal chest pain, runny nose, poor appetite and dysuria. On examination, a 5-year-old male child, ill looking, febrile with temperature 38.1o C, unicteric, acyanosed, palor, tachypneic. He was diagnosed with severe malaria and acute cystitis. Abubakar was managed with injection antibiotics such as amoxiclav, some cough syrup and other supportive care like IV fluid until he was stable and discharged. Child is to be brought back for follow up after 5 days. The family are happy with the medical support given, they extend gratitude to Helpster Charity for the medical support.

Abubakar was diagnosed with severe enteritis and acute cystitis, he was very febrile upon presentation, with increased heart rate, weakness, and general symptoms. He was admitted as he was in a severe clinical state, for urgent medical treatment. The prognosis of Enteritis and Acute Cystitis is generally good with prompt treatment, hydration, and appropriate medications. Delayed management will lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, kidney infection, sepsis, and other complications. The prognosis is good especially when diagnosis and treatment is done early.
