Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Md Al Amin is a 14-year-old boy who studies in Class 7 and dreams of continuing his education to build a better future for his family. He lives with his parents and siblings in a small rented tin-shade house, where his father works as a mechanic and earns only around BDT 8,000 per month, barely enough to cover food, rent, and educational expenses. The family's financial hardship makes it impossible to afford the costly eye treatment needed for his condition. Al Amin has been diagnosed with a serious disease affecting the blood vessels of both eyes, causing his vision to become increasingly blurred and making it difficult for him to read, study, and carry out daily activities. Without timely treatment, he may suffer permanent vision loss, which would severely affect his education, independence, and future opportunities. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akter, Counselor of the Pediatric Unit at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, and Helpster Volunteer Md Al Amin.

Medical history

Md Al Amin, a 14-year-old boy, was experiencing serious vision problems due to retinal complications that required immediate medical intervention. After diagnosis, he received Anti-VEGF injections and PRP laser treatment in both eyes under the expert care of Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Retina Specialist of the Hospital. These treatments were essential to stop abnormal blood vessel growth and prevent further vision loss. The procedures were carried out successfully and without complications, and he responded very well to the treatment. His vision has significantly improved, and he now feels comfortable and can see clearly again. The improvement in his eyesight has helped him regain confidence and continue his studies and daily activities with ease. His family is extremely happy and grateful for the positive outcome. Sincere thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their generous support in helping the child restore his vision and lead a brighter life.

Prognosis

According to the specialist doctors at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Al Amin urgently requires Anti-VEGF injections and PRP Laser treatment in both eyes, along with routine follow-up care. The treatment will be provided by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Retina Specialist of the hospital. The doctors believe that with timely treatment, Al Amin’s vision can be stabilized and significantly improved, allowing him to continue his education and daily life. This treatment will help reduce retinal swelling, prevent further damage, and protect his eyesight from permanent loss. However, if left untreated, his condition may progress rapidly and could result in irreversible blindness in both eyes.
