Kylian is a 10-month-old boy and the only child living with his mother, grandmother, and aunt in one household. His mother is a single parent who depends on occasional casual jobs to earn a living. They live in a mud-walled, one-bedroom house without electricity. His grandmother practices small-scale farming, while his aunt is a student. Kylian was brought to the health facility at around 4 p.m. appearing critically ill, weak, and dehydrated. His mother reported that he had been unwell for almost three days, with frequent diarrhoea, persistent vomiting, and recurrent episodes of fever. His condition had progressively worsened, and he had become excessively weak, unable to feed properly, restless, and unusually less active. The mother explained that she had not given him any medication because she was still struggling to raise transport money to bring him to the hospital. She learned about Helpster Charity through a village member who had previously offered her casual work and informed her about the medical support program.

KYLIAN WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE DEHYDRATION THAT HAD BEEN CAUSED BY GASTROENTERITIS, HE WAS MANAGED WITH IV FLUIDS, ANTIBIOTICS, ANALGESICS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER MEDICAL REPORT. HIS CONDITION NEVER IMPROVED DESPITE THE MANAGEMENT HE WAS RECEIVING MAKING US REFER HIM TO SIAYA COUNTY REFERRAL HOSPITAL, FOR SENIOR PEDITRICIAN REVIEW AND FURTHER MANAGEMENT.

Following medical evaluation, Kylian was diagnosed with severe dehydration with electrolyte imbalance secondary to prolonged diarrhoea and persistent vomiting. Doctors noted that he appeared critically ill, weak, lethargic, dehydrated, and unable to feed properly, placing him at high risk of serious complications. Immediate treatment, including intravenous fluids, electrolyte correction, and close monitoring, was initiated. Kylian responded positively to treatment with gradual improvement in hydration and activity levels. With continued medical care, proper nutrition, and follow-up, his prognosis is good and he is expected to recover well.
