Mohammad Hasan is a 12-year-old boy who dreams of studying, playing, and living a normal life like other children. He lives with his parents, two younger sisters, and elderly grandmother in a small tin-made house, where his father earns around BDT 10,000 per month as an auto-rickshaw driver, barely enough to meet the family's daily expenses. Despite their financial struggles, Hasan remains cheerful, respectful, and dedicated to his studies, but his worsening eyesight has made reading, learning, and daily activities increasingly difficult. The family cannot afford the cost of cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation, as they are already struggling to provide food, education, and basic necessities for all family members. Without timely treatment, Hasan may suffer permanent vision loss, which would severely affect his education, independence, and future opportunities. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akter, Counselor of the Pediatric Unit at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, and Helpster Volunteer Md Al Amin.

Mohammad Hasan, a 12-year-old boy, required urgent cataract surgery in the both eyes as the condition was significantly affecting vision development at this early age. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia on 26.04.2026 at Left eye by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The treatment progressed smoothly, with the medical team carefully monitoring him during and after surgery. As healing began, she showed steady improvement, responding well to the treatment plan. The cataract removal successfully restored clarity, and visual acuity improved remarkably. Now he feels much more comfortable and can see clearly, which will greatly support healthy visual growth. This positive outcome has brought immense relief and joy to the family. Mohammad Hasan urgently requires cataract surgery under general anesthesia with implantation of intraocular lenses in both eyes, starting with the left eye followed by the right eye. The doctor explained that timely surgery can significantly improve his vision, allowing him to continue education, move independently, and live a productive life. With proper surgery, follow-up treatment, and visual rehabilitation, Mohammad Hasan has a strong possibility of regaining functional eyesight and enjoying a healthier childhood. However, if treatment is delayed, the cataracts may permanently damage his visual system, leading to irreversible blindness and lifelong dependence on others.
