Ashik Ahmed is a cheerful and playful 4-year-old boy from Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka, who loves spending time with his younger brother Harez and playing around the camp despite the difficult conditions of their daily life. He lives with his parents, grandfather Md. Abdullah Sadi, and other family members in a cramped shelter where his father, Md. Sadi, struggles to support the six-member family by pulling a rickshaw and earning only around 9,000 BDT per month, leaving no savings for emergency medical treatment. When Ashik became seriously ill with severe pneumonia, high fever, mouth sores, vomiting, and dangerous breathing difficulty, the family became helpless as they could not afford hospitalization, medicines, oxygen support, and ongoing treatment costs. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized by Helpster Charity in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Doctors have warned that without proper treatment and close medical care, Ashik’s severe lung infection and low oxygen level could rapidly become life-threatening, seriously affecting his growth, overall health, and chance of a normal childhood.

Ashik was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on May 2, 2026, at 06:31 PM to undergo urgent intervention for life-threatening severe pneumonia. During his intensive four-day hospital stay, he received comprehensive conservative care, including essential intravenous fluids, nebulization, and targeted injectable antibiotics that successfully stabilized his breathing and brought down his high fever. Following this successful treatment process, a much stronger and smiling Ashik was safely discharged on May 6, 2026, with a complete regimen of recovery medications and a structured follow-up plan to ensure he returns fully to his vibrant childhood.

According to the doctors, Ashik urgently needs hospitalization, antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive treatment to control the severe lung infection and improve his breathing. With timely treatment and close medical monitoring, his fever, cough, breathing difficulty, and low oxygen level are expected to improve gradually, helping him recover and return to a healthy childhood. Doctors are carefully observing his condition to prevent the infection from becoming more serious. However, if Ashik does not receive proper treatment on time, the infection may spread further in his lungs, cause severe breathing failure, dangerously low oxygen levels, and become life-threatening.
