Tasrin Akter Joya is a bright and resilient 13-year-old girl from Geneva Bihari Camp, Dhaka, who dreams of continuing her studies and helping her family build a better future. She lives with her parents and younger brother Md. Azan in a small overcrowded shelter where her father works as a daily laborer and her mother does embroidery work, yet their combined income is barely enough to cover food, rent, education, and daily necessities, leaving no savings for costly emergency medical treatment. Tasrin’s severe fever, headaches, vomiting, and loss of consciousness have left her unable to attend school, play with her younger brother, or live a normal childhood, causing deep fear and anxiety for her family members. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized by Helpster Charity in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Doctors have warned that without urgent treatment and close medical care, the infection affecting her brain and nervous system may become life-threatening, causing permanent brain damage, severe physical complications, or even loss of life.

With the support of Helpster, Tasrin Akter Joya was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on 02/05/2026 at 7:55 PM and stayed for four days, being discharged on 06/05/2026. During her hospital stay, she received urgent medical care including intravenous fluids, antibiotics, and supportive treatment for her meningitis, which helped stabilize her condition, reduce her fever, and improve her consciousness. She is now recovering well at home under follow-up care and taking the prescribed medications. With continued support, Tasrin is expected to regain her strength, return to school, and enjoy a healthier, more normal childhood .
