Mohammad Moharam is a 7-year-old boy who studies in Class 1 and dreams of becoming a teacher so that he can help his family and educate children in his village. He lives with his parents, elder brother, and grandmother in a small tin-made house, where his father works as a construction laborer and earns only around BDT 8,000 per month, barely enough to support the family's daily needs. Due to their severe financial hardship, the family cannot afford the cost of the cataract surgeries and intraocular lens implantation needed to restore Moharam’s vision. Despite his visual difficulties, he remains cheerful, polite, and eager to continue his education, but his worsening eyesight is making it increasingly difficult for him to study and carry out normal activities. Without timely treatment, he may suffer permanent vision loss in both eyes, severely affecting his education, independence, and future opportunities. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Nasima Akhter, Counselor of the Pediatric Unit at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, and Helpster Volunteer Md. Al Amin.

Mohammad Moharam, a 7-year-old boy, required urgent cataract surgery in the both eyes as the condition was significantly affecting vision development at this early age. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia on 16.05.2026 at Left eye by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety throughout the procedure. The treatment progressed smoothly, with the medical team carefully monitoring him during and after surgery. As healing began, she showed steady improvement, responding well to the treatment plan. The cataract removal successfully restored clarity, and visual acuity improved remarkably. Now he feels much more comfortable and can see clearly, which will greatly support healthy visual growth. This positive outcome has brought immense relief and joy to the family. According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant of Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Mohammad Moharam urgently requires bilateral cataract surgery under general anesthesia along with intraocular lens implantation to restore useful vision in both eyes. The doctor explained that because Moharam is still young, timely surgery and proper postoperative follow-up can significantly improve his visual development and quality of life. If treatment is completed successfully, he will be able to continue his education, participate in daily activities independently, and enjoy a normal childhood alongside other children.
