Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Stacy is the firstborn in a family of four children and a Form Four student. She comes from a humble family where both parents depend on small-scale farming for survival. Due to financial hardship, the family struggles to meet basic needs, school fees, and other educational expenses. Stacy and her younger sister often miss school because of lack of fees. They live in a two-room mud-walled house without electricity. Despite these challenges, Stacy is hardworking, disciplined, and supportive of her parents in farm work. After missing her menstrual periods, Stacy informed her mother and later sought medical attention. She regularly attended ANC clinics throughout her pregnancy. As labor approached, she developed severe lower abdominal and back pains that increased in intensity and frequency, accompanied by pressure on her bladder and an urge to push. With no transport money, Stacy and her mother walked a long distance seeking help until a good Samaritan assisted them with a motorbike ride to a nearby dispensary. She received first aid and was referred to Siaya County Referral Hospital, where she was diagnosed with prolonged labor and urgently taken for an emergency Caesarean section.
Medical history
Stacy was adequately received in the hospital. The treatment admistered to her was timely and both the mother and the baby are recuperating well. She was administered IV ceftriaxone, oxytocin, flagyl among other drugs and later on discharged. Stacy is very greatful and anticipate to return back to school once her baby is 3 months.
Outcome
Stacy's condition required urgent obstetric intervention to prevent maternal and fetal complications. Timely management through assisted vaginal delivery or emergency Caesarean section was necessary to safeguard both mother and baby. The patient required close monitoring for complications such as postpartum hemorrhage, genital tract trauma, infection, and fetal distress. Good, if timely obstetric intervention was performed. Full recovery expected with proper postnatal care, adequate rest, nutrition, and follow-up. Risk of anemia, infection, or psychological distress may occur but is manageable with appropriate care. Favourable, if delivery occurred before severe fetal distress or birth asphyxia developed. Baby may require observation for birth asphyxia or neonatal complications but recovery is expected with proper neonatal care. Good outcome anticipated for both mother and baby following prompt medical management and continued postnatal monitoring.
