Bahijjah Aliyu a 27ear old woman lived with her husband in a room and palor house. She is a house wife with no job. Her was husband before his untimely demise less than 24hours before her been taken to the hospital was a carpenter who repairs leaking roofs and other woodworks. This is her first pregnancy and her second scar from a previous myomectomy surgery done less than a year ago. Bahija Umar, a 27-year-old female patient, presented to the facility unbooked with a history of a previous caesarean section and fetal distress at an estimated gestational age of 40 weeks + 3 days. On evaluation, her fetus was found to be viable with a normal fetal heart rate of 144 bpm, longitudinal lie, cephalic presentation, and an estimated weight of 3.406 kg, though the diagnosis recorded was a viable postdate pregnancy with breech presentation. Due to the obstetric risks of breech presentation at postdate gestation, she was counseled and scheduled for an emergency lower segment Caesarean Section under general anesthesia, and she remains under appropriate obstetric care.

Bahijjaja Umar, 27, presented at 40 weeks + 3 days with a postdate, footling breech pregnancy complicated by a uterine scar from a myomectomy a year prior and signs of fetal distress. Because vaginal delivery was high-risk, the team scheduled an emergency low vertical caesarean section under general anesthesia to protect both mother and baby. On 2nd May 2026, she delivered a healthy baby boy without major complications. After surgery, Bahijjaja was monitored closely for pain, healing, and infection risk. She and her baby remained in the hospital for 5 days, during which both stayed stable and the baby fed and gained weight well. At discharge, she was healing well and sent home with painkillers and antibiotics for recovery. With timely intervention, the prognosis is favorable, and both mother and baby are in good health under follow-up care.

Bahijja has a viable postdate pregnancy with breech presentation complicated by a previous scar and fetal distress, which makes vaginal delivery high-risk. There are signs of fetal distress which increase risks for both mother and baby if a vaginal delivery is attempted. Due to these obstetric risks, she has been scheduled for an emergency caesarean section under general anesthesia to protect maternal and fetal safety. Our recommendation is an emergency low vertical caesarean section under general anesthesia to minimize complications for both mother and baby. The prognosis is favorable with appropriate surgical intervention, since the plan is aimed at ensuring optimal maternal and fetal outcomes and she remains under active obstetric care.
