Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Nusaiba Islam Enaya is a fragile one-month-old baby girl whose innocent smile brings hope and happiness to her struggling family despite their difficult life. She lives with her parents, brother Abrar Farhan, sister Nurun Nahar, and elderly grandfather in a small tin-made house where her father, Nur e Alam Majumder, earns only around 8,000 BDT per month as a garments worker, while most of his income is already burdened by loans taken for her emergency NICU treatment after birth. Born prematurely with severe breathing problems and jaundice, Nusaiba later developed a dangerous eye disease that now threatens her eyesight, leaving her parents devastated and helpless as they fear their daughter could lose her vision forever. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Al Amin, the family sought urgent help for her treatment and eye injections. Without proper treatment, her eye condition may worsen rapidly and could lead to permanent blindness and lifelong suffering.

Medical history

Nusaiba Islam Enaya, a 1-month-old baby girl, required urgent eye treatment to protect her developing vision from a serious retinal condition that could potentially lead to permanent visual impairment if left untreated. After careful examination and evaluation, she received an Anti-VEGF injection on 30.04.2026 under the supervision of the hospital’s eye specialist. The treatment was administered carefully, with close monitoring to ensure her safety and the effectiveness of the therapy. Nusaiba responded well to the treatment, and her retinal condition showed encouraging signs of improvement. Doctors are hopeful that timely treatment and regular follow-up will help protect her vision and support healthy visual development. She was discharged in stable condition with advice for continued ophthalmic follow-up. Heartfelt thanks go to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes for their generous support in making this important treatment possible for baby Nusaiba.

Prognosis

According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md Saiful Islam, ROP Specialist at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Nusaiba urgently requires Anti-VEGF Injection such as Avastin Injection in both eyes along with regular retinal follow-up examinations to stop the abnormal blood vessel growth and protect her vision. The doctors explained that early treatment offers a very high chance of saving her eyesight and allowing her retina to develop more normally. If the injections are administered in time, Nusaiba may grow up with functional vision and live a healthy, independent life like other children. However, if treatment is delayed, the disease may rapidly worsen and cause permanent blindness that cannot be reversed later, even with surgery.
