Aisha is a 25-year-old housewife and mother of one who values family life and enjoys spending time with her loved ones. She lives with her husband, Yakubu, who works as a driver and is often away from home due to the nature of his job. Despite his efforts, he is only able to send about ₦10,000 monthly for the family’s feeding and basic needs. Aisha is a caring and hopeful woman whose dream is to have twins and raise a happy family. She developed severe, progressively worsening labor pains about 18 hours before presentation, with rupture of membranes occurring 5 hours prior. Despite full cervical dilation, the baby failed to descend, and signs of obstruction such as molding and caput were present, indicating prolonged obstructed labor. Due to the risk to both mother and baby, she was diagnosed with prolonged obstructed labor and taken for an emergency cesarean section.

Aisha Salihu Musa was admitted with severe prolonged labour pain and rupture of membrane. After medical examination, doctors diagnosed her with prolonged obstructed labour, a serious childbirth complication that prevented normal delivery. Due to the condition, she was booked for an emergency Caesarean Section (CS) and placed under close medical care. The treatment aims to safely deliver the baby, stabilize her condition, and prevent further complications, with doctors hopeful for a good recovery.

Aisha condition is a prolonged obstructed labor which is a serious obstetric emergency requiring immediate medical intervention. It is a life-threatening obstetric emergency that causes severe, permanent physical injury such as uterine rupture or death to both the mother and the fetus. It occurs when the fetus cannot progress through the birth canal despite strong, despite regular uterine contractions no progress hence she needs an emergency C/S to prevent further complications. The prognosis is considered good with prompt and timely Caesarean Section, both the mother and baby have a good chance of recovery and stabilization. However, delay in treatment could increase the risk of complications such as infection, excessive bleeding, fetal distress, or other life-threatening conditions.
