Blessing Arukudi is an 18-month-old girl living with her family in Nakutan, Lodwar, within the remote and economically challenged Turkana region. She comes from an underprivileged family where her parents struggle daily to provide basic needs. Despite these hardships, Blessing had been growing well, meeting developmental milestones, and remained active and playful. On May 5, 2026, her condition suddenly changed after she sustained a scorpion bite. Within a short time, she developed severe weakness, lower limb pain, and excessive drooling, causing great concern to her family. She was rushed to Lodwar County Referral Hospital for emergency treatment, where further evaluation revealed moderate anaemia and septicemia in addition to complications related to the scorpion sting. Blessing required urgent admission and was managed with intravenous fluids, antibiotics, pain medication, and supportive care during a week-long hospitalization. Due to the family’s financial difficulties, meeting the medical expenses was impossible. Through assistance from Helpster Charity, the family received support that enabled Blessing to access lifesaving treatment.

Blessing presented with complications following a scorpion bite, including septicemia and moderate anaemia, conditions that required urgent hospitalization and close monitoring. She is being managed with intravenous antibiotics, fluids, pain control, and supportive treatment to stabilize her condition and control the infection. The response to treatment has been encouraging. Prognosis is good
