Adnan H., 3

Adnan Hasan is 3 years old. He lives in the village with his parents, mother and sister. Adnan's father works for the family; he travels from village to village by bicycle and earns by selling cosmetic products. Adnan's father's dream is that Adnan will grow up to be a teacher and will teach for free to poor people. Adnan is suffering from pain, fever, and vommiting caused by Inguinal Hernia.

Masud Rana (Father): "About a month after my son Adnan was born, I noticed sudden swelling and pain on the right side of his groin. The local doctor diagnosed it as a hernia, but the surgery at the government hospital wasn't free. I couldn't afford the bill, and I was worried about where to find the money. My salary wasn't sufficient, and my baby was constantly crying. Fortunately, we learned about RUDO Hospital, which partners with Helpster Charity. Dr. Arif secured funding from Helpster Charity for the surgery. This gave us a sense of relief and control. The surgery was performed by skilled doctors under general anesthesia." The weak or torn muscle was repaired by stitching. Adnan's surgery was successful, and he didn't experience any complications. Recovery may take four to six weeks before returning to normal activities. After one week, Dr. Arif, the MD and Deputy Director of Polly Akota Unnayan Sanstha (RUDO), organized a home visit to Adnan's house. Adnan was feeling very well. He was playing with other kids and was delighted to see Dr. Arif. Adnan's family expressed their immense gratitude to Helpster Charity and RUDO Hospital. They shared their story with friends and neighbors to help other underprivileged children access the treatment they need. They extended heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.

If left untreated, inguinal hernias can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction, strangulation (where blood supply to the herniated tissue is cut off), and significant pain or discomfort. Surgery is the most common treatment for inguinal hernias to repair the weakened area and prevent these potential complications.
