Mst. Sufaida is a kind and devoted 20-year-old mother who always puts her family first and dreams of raising her young son in good health despite the hardships of refugee life. She lives with her husband, son, and parents, and her husband is the only earning member, working as an NGO volunteer with a limited income that is not enough to meet the family's daily needs, making it impossible to afford the cost of her treatment. She has been diagnosed with pneumonia, a high-grade fever, and an enlarged infected lymph node, and without timely treatment, the infection could spread rapidly, leading to severe breathing failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), multiple organ failure, and other potentially life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Ahammod Ali Azad, giving them hope when they had no other way to pay for her treatment. With timely medical care, Sufaida can recover, care for her young son again, and continue supporting her family.

Sufaida, a 20-year-old female child, was admitted on 10.06.2026 at Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Ahammod Ali Azad with complaints of difficulty breathing with persistent cough and chest discomfort, high-grade fever causing weakness and irritability, and a painful swelling at the right wrist joint limiting her movement. On admission, necessary clinical evaluation and investigations were carried out. She was diagnosed with Pneumonia with Severe Malnutrition, High-Grade Fever, and Ganglion. Accordingly, she was managed with hospitalization under close monitoring, therapy for hypoxemia, evaluation and pharmacological management of pneumonia and fever, correction of fluids and electrolytes, and nutritional support. Later, surgical management for the ganglion (excision) was also performed by a general surgeon. She remained hospitalized for a total of 03 days and responded well to the treatment. Her condition gradually improved, and she was discharged on 13.06.2026 in stable condition with necessary advice and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

With timely hospitalization, close monitoring, oxygen therapy for hypoxemia, and proper medical management of pneumonia and fever, Sufaida’s breathing will gradually improve and the infection can be controlled. Correction of fluids and electrolytes along with nutritional support will help restore her strength, improve immunity, and support healthy growth. Surgical removal of the ganglion will relieve pain and restore normal movement of her wrist, improving her daily functioning and comfort. Overall, appropriate treatment offers a strong chance of recovery and a return to normal life. However, if left untreated, her pneumonia could worsen into severe respiratory failure, her malnutrition could become life-threatening, and the ongoing infection may lead to serious complications or even death.
