Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Jannatul Ferdous is a cheerful and determined 7-year-old Bangladeshi girl who studies in Class One and dreams of becoming a doctor to help people in need. She lives with her parents and her younger sibling, where her father works as a rural tailor and is the family's only earning member, but his small income is not enough to cover daily expenses, let alone the cost of another surgery after borrowing heavily for her first operation. Although her fractured leg healed after surgery, the metal implant left in her leg is now causing persistent pain and making it difficult for her to walk, play, and attend school normally. Doctors have warned that if the implant is not removed on time, it may cause chronic pain, infection, restricted bone growth, damage to surrounding tissues, and long-term disability. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Md. Younus, the family finally found hope that Jannatul can receive the treatment she needs to return to a healthy and active childhood.

Medical history

Jannatul Ferdous, an 11-year-old girl, was admitted to Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Md. Younus with severe pain and discomfort in her left leg caused by retained orthopedic implants following previous surgery for a fracture. After clinical evaluation, she was diagnosed with retained orthopedic implants (IM nail/screws) and successfully underwent implant removal surgery. She remained hospitalized for four days, receiving postoperative pain management, wound care, infection prevention, and rehabilitation advice before being discharged in stable condition with follow-up instructions. The entire cost of her treatment was covered by Helpster Charity, and her family sincerely thanks Helpster, its volunteer, and the medical team at Orion Hospital for their generous support and compassionate care.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctor, hospitalization, pre-operative evaluation, surgical removal of the retained orthopedic implant (IM nail/screws), pain management, wound care, infection prevention, physiotherapy, and regular follow-up are essential to ensure Jannatul Ferdous's complete recovery. Removal of the implant is expected to relieve her pain, improve movement of her left leg, prevent infection, and allow her to return to normal walking, playing, and school activities. However, if the retained implant is not removed, she may continue to suffer from persistent pain, infection around the implant, damage to the surrounding bone and soft tissues, restricted growth and movement of the leg, and, in severe cases, infection may spread to the bloodstream (sepsis), becoming life-threatening.
