Vincent is a 15-year-old boy and a Grade 7 pupil living with his family in a rural community. He comes from a large household where his mother is the sole breadwinner, supporting eight children and grandchildren through a small business that generates a very modest income. The family lives in a simple two-room mud-walled house and relies on water fetched from a distant stream for daily use. Despite these challenges, Vincent is hardworking, respectful, and committed to his education. He enjoys playing football, helping with household chores, and dreams of building a better future for himself and his family. Three days before admission, Vincent developed vomiting, painful urination, abdominal pain, and high fever. His mother initially sought help from a nearby chemist, hoping he would recover, but his condition continued to deteriorate. He later developed diarrhea, loss of appetite, persistent vomiting, headache, and marked body weakness. Deeply concerned and unable to afford hospital care, his mother sought assistance. A member of her church informed her about Helpster Charity's support at Al Ihsaan Health Centre and encouraged her to seek care there. Upon arrival, Vincent was assessed by the medical team and admitted for further investigations, close monitoring, and treatment due to the severity of his condition.

Vincent was diagnosed with severe malaria and a urinary tract infection, both of which contributed significantly to his fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, weakness, and general deterioration in health. These conditions required prompt medical attention as severe malaria can lead to life-threatening complications, while an untreated urinary tract infection may spread to the kidneys or bloodstream.
