Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Sabon Gari Ward, off Nguru Road Gashua

Background

Abdulrahman Sani is a 3-year-old boy diagnosed with Infantile Hydrocele. He is the third child in a family of five. His father, Sani, works as a bricklayer and earns ₦10,000 per month, while his mother is a full-time housewife with no source of income. The family lives in Gashu'a. Abdulrahman is a 3-year-old boy who presented with a six-month history of scrotal swelling; he was apparently healthy until six months before presentation when she noticed swelling in his scrotal region. The swelling gradually increased in size over time and became more prominent whenever the child coughed or strained. Upon presentation at the hospital, Abdulrahman underwent a thorough clinical assessment and physical examination. The examination revealed a globular, hourglass-shaped scrotal swelling that was smooth, soft, fluctuant, irreducible, and transilluminant. Based on the clinical findings, he was diagnosed with Infantile Hydrocele and has been booked for herniotomy for definitive treatment.

Medical history

Upon presentation, Abdulrahman Sani underwent a detailed clinical assessment, including history taking and physical examination. The findings were consistent with Infantile Hydrocele, and after confirming the diagnosis, the medical team scheduled him for herniotomy as the definitive treatment. The child was adequately prepared for surgery and underwent the procedure under the care of the surgical team. The operation was carried out successfully without any complications. Abdulrahman tolerated the procedure well and had a smooth postoperative recovery. The scrotal swelling was successfully corrected, and his condition improved significantly following the surgery. He remained clinically stable throughout the treatment period and was discharged in satisfactory condition, with follow-up care advised to monitor his recovery. The overall outcome of the treatment was excellent.

Prognosis

Based on the history and physical examination findings, Abdulrahman Sani is diagnosed with Infantile Hydrocele. The diagnosis was supported by the presence of a painless, progressively enlarging scrotal swelling that was smooth, soft, fluctuant, irreducible, and transilluminant on examination. The child is recommended herniotomy as the definitive treatment and subsequently booked for surgery. Prognosis: The prognosis is good. With timely surgical intervention and appropriate postoperative care,
