Dauda Mohammed is a five-year-old boy from a nomadic Fulani family that moves from place to place in search of pasture for their cattle. He is his father's only surviving son after the loss of three other children, making him especially precious to his family. When Dauda became ill with fever, yellowing of the eyes, weakness, and abdominal pain, his father feared he might lose him too. With no permanent home or access to regular healthcare, the family sought help through the Helpster Charity Foundation and brought him to Adari Medical Clinic. Dauda had been ill for two weeks with **high fever, chills, jaundice, dark urine, vomiting, poor appetite, and severe weakness**. On examination, he was febrile, jaundiced, and had an enlarged liver. Laboratory tests confirmed a triple infection of acute viral hepatitis, Plasmodium falciparum malaria, and intestinal worm infestation (Ascaris lumbricoides). He was admitted for treatment and close monitoring.

By the seventh day, he had regained strength and was able to interact normally, bringing immense relief and joy to his father. Thanks to Helpster Charity, his recovery prevented another tragic loss for the family and gave him the opportunity to return to a healthy childhood.

Dauda Mohammed’s condition is serious, as he presented with both Hepatitis, Helminthiasis, and Malaria infections. The combination of these infections for the 5 year old Dauda is quite critical, hence the need for urgent medical intervention. Prognosis is good with prompt hospitalization, antimalarial medication, deworming, and supportive care for hepatitis, he is expected to make a full recovery within a few weeks; if left untreated, the infection could lead to acute liver failure, severe anemia, intestinal obstruction, cerebral malaria, or death.
