Isiya Auwal is a 12-year-old boy living with his widowed mother and three younger siblings in Birniwa town. Despite poverty, he helps his mother at her vegetable stall after school and supports the family in small ways. His mother works hard but earns very little, and she dreams of Isiya having a better future through education. Isiya developed a five-day history of cough, fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, and general weakness. His symptoms gradually worsened, affecting his appetite and ability to assist his mother. He was brought to Adari Medical Clinic on 12th June 2026 through Helpster Charity Foundation support. On examination, he was febrile with mild throat redness and neck lymph node enlargement but had no signs of severe respiratory distress. He was diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) and managed as an outpatient with supportive treatment.

Isiya, a twelve-year-old boy, was brought to Adari Medical Clinic by his mother with a history of cough, fever, and sore throat. Following clinical evaluation, he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract infection and managed as an outpatient with antibiotics, fever medication, and supportive care. His mother was educated on the proper administration of medications and the importance of adequate hydration, nutrition, and rest during recovery. At follow-up, Isiya showed marked improvement, with resolution of fever and significant reduction in cough. He had regained his appetite and returned to his normal activities. Isiya Auwal, a twelve-year-old boy, presented with a five-day history of persistent cough, nasal congestion, high fever (38.5°C), sore throat, and general weakness. On examination, he had nasal congestion, mild pharyngeal erythema, and mild cervical lymphadenopathy. His chest was clear with no crackles or wheeze, and he had no signs of respiratory distress. He was diagnosed with an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI). Because he was clinically stable, able to eat and drink, and had no signs of severe illness, he was treated as an outpatient. He was prescribed oral amoxicillin for possible bacterial infection, oral paracetamol for fever and pain, oral multivitamins, and oral cough syrup. His mother received counseling on hydration, nutrition, and danger signs requiring immediate medical attention. Prognosis is excellent with prompt treatment. He is expected to recover fully within 5-7 days.
