Lukman Yahuza is 3years old, living in family of 4, whom consist of his father, mother and his elder brother who is 6years. Lukman is a joyful child, who loves playing football with his brother and other children within their neighborhood. His father is a plumber and his mother is a house-wife who are having monthly income of less than N10,000. With monthly income of less than N10,000 the family finds it difficult to maintain regular feeding and also cover medical bills, that's why the family request Helpster Donors for help. Lukman was doing well until 4days ago when he started developing high-grade fever, persistent vomiting, loss of appetite, generalized body weakness and difficulty in breathing. Parents reported visible pallor and reduced urine output in the last 24hours. His parents gave his some traditional herbs but symptoms persists. After investigations and assessments, Lukman was said to be diagnosed with Severe Malaria r/o Severe anemia.

Lukman was presented to our facility with high-grade fever, persistent vomiting, loss of appetite, and generalized body weakness. Lukman's condition was complicated by severe anemia evidenced by palmer pallor, paper white conjunctiva and PCV of 18%, SPo2=85%. After assessment lukman was diagnosed with severe malaria complicated by severe anemia, Lukman need immediate medical treatment with IV Artesunate, blood transfusion, Intravenous fluids, antipyretics, oxygen administration and maintenance of hypoglycemia. If left untreated Luckman's health condition will deteriorate further to become life threatening with risk of shock, heart failure, cerebral malaria, respiratory distress and possible mortality.
