Md. Nishan is a 4-year-old cheerful and beloved child who regularly attends a maktab and is deeply cared for by his parents. He lives with his father and mother in a rented house, while his father is the sole earner and works as a day laborer, earning only approximately USD 41 per month, making it extremely difficult to manage rent, food, and medical expenses. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach at Kutupalong, after a neighbor connected them with a Helpster volunteer when treatment from a local village doctor failed to improve Nishan’s condition. Nishan had been suffering from high fever, cold, and cough for more than a week and was diagnosed with Enteric Fever with UTI, requiring proper medical treatment. Without timely care, the infection could worsen and lead to serious complications such as severe dehydration, systemic infection, or other potentially life-threatening conditions.

According to the treating physician, admission for close monitoring, fever and symptom management, nutritional support, laboratory investigations, supportive care, and regular follow-up is recommended for Nishan. With timely treatment, the enteric fever and UTI are expected to improve, helping restore his appetite, strength, and overall health. If left untreated, the infections may worsen and lead to persistent high fever, dehydration, poor nutritional status, or spread of infection to other parts of the body. Prompt medical care is therefore important to prevent serious complications and support his recovery.
