Mohammad Fahim is a cheerful and resilient 8-month-old baby who lives with his parents and four brothers in a family of seven, bringing hope to his family despite their difficult circumstances. His father is the family's only earning member, working as a daily wage laborer with a monthly income of approximately BDT 11,000, which is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities for the large family, leaving them unable to afford the cost of PICU admission, CPAP oxygen therapy, IV antibiotics, and specialized hospital care. After being referred by Dr. Pritom Paul, In-Charge, PICU, Al-Manar Specialized Hospital, the family learned about Helpster Charity and sought urgent financial assistance. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue Fahim's life-saving treatment without support. Without timely PICU care, post-measles pneumonia can rapidly progress to severe respiratory failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), permanent lung damage, multi-organ complications, and even death.

The recommended treatment is PICU admission with continuous CPAP oxygen therapy, intravenous (IV) antibiotic therapy, close monitoring, and comprehensive supportive care to control the severe post-measles pneumonia, improve oxygenation, and prevent life-threatening complications. With timely intensive care, appropriate respiratory support, fluid and nutritional management, and completion of the prescribed antibiotics, Mohammad Fahim is expected to recover gradually, regain normal breathing, and continue healthy growth and development. If left untreated, post-measles pneumonia can rapidly progress to severe respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, bloodstream infection (sepsis), permanent lung damage, multi-organ failure, and even death.
