Mohammad Siam is a bright and determined 14-year-old boy who loves playing football and dreams of becoming an engineer so he can help his family escape poverty. His father works as a rickshaw puller and earns only about 11,000 Taka per month, supporting Siam, his mother, and the rest of their five-member family in a small rented room in Geneva Camp, making it impossible to afford costly medical treatment. When Siam developed severe difficulty passing urine, fever, painful urination, and urinary discharge, his condition became increasingly serious and was diagnosed as subcoronal hypospadias with severe meatal stenosis and urinary tract infection, causing progressive blockage of urine flow. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp in Geneva Camp, which gave them hope when they had no financial means to continue treatment. Without timely medical and surgical intervention, Siam could suffer complete urinary blockage, recurrent infections, bladder and kidney damage, severe pain, and long-term health complications that could threaten both his future health and education.

According to the treating physician, emergency stabilization with intravenous antibiotics and fluids followed by Tubularized Incised Plate (TIP) urethroplasty is expected to relieve Mohammad Siam’s urinary obstruction, control the infection, and improve urine flow. With successful surgery, proper pain management, infection control, and follow-up, he is expected to recover well and regain normal urinary function. If treatment is delayed, persistent obstruction and infection may lead to recurrent urinary tract infections, bladder damage, kidney complications, and complete urinary retention. Early medical and surgical treatment is therefore important to prevent serious long-term complications and improve his quality of life.
