Rafsan Islam Rafi is a cheerful and beloved one-year-old boy whose smile brings happiness to his parents and two older siblings despite their daily struggles. His father works as a day laborer and often earns too little to meet the family's basic needs, forcing him to borrow money when work is unavailable, making the cost of hospitalization and specialized treatment completely beyond their means. When Rafsan developed dengue fever with severe community-acquired pneumonia and hypoxemia, his condition became critical, leaving him weak, breathless, and in urgent need of medical care. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Md. Younus, who gave them hope during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. Without timely treatment, Rafsan could suffer severe respiratory failure, worsening dengue complications, organ damage, or even death, devastating a family that dreams of seeing their youngest child grow up healthy and have a brighter future.

According to the treating physician, Rafsan Islam Rafi requires immediate hospital-based treatment with oxygen support, intravenous fluids, close monitoring, and appropriate medicines to control both dengue fever and the severe lung infection. With timely and complete treatment, his infection can be controlled, his oxygen level can return to normal, and he has a good chance of making a full recovery. However, if treatment is delayed or not provided, his breathing difficulty and oxygen shortage may rapidly worsen, leading to multi-organ complications, respiratory failure, severe shock, or even death.
