Most. Shilpi Akter is a 19-year-old honest and hardworking pregnant woman who enjoys decorating her home and dreams of building a house of her own while hoping for a safe delivery and healthy baby. She lives with her husband, young son, and elderly in-laws in fragile conditions without a permanent home, while her husband is the sole earner and works as a day laborer, earning only approximately USD 49 per month, making it extremely difficult to afford pregnancy-related medical care. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a doctor and sought support because their limited income is already consumed by basic household needs. At 32 weeks and 1 day of pregnancy, Shilpi was diagnosed with breech presentation after experiencing lower abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, and hardening of the abdomen. Without timely monitoring and appropriate obstetric management, breech presentation may lead to obstructed labor, fetal distress, birth complications, and potentially life-threatening consequences for both mother and baby.

According to the treating physician, Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is recommended to ensure safe delivery in view of Shilpi’s breech presentation. With timely surgery and appropriate postoperative care, the baby can be delivered safely while reducing the risks associated with complicated breech labor. If treatment is delayed or not provided, breech presentation may result in obstructed labor, fetal distress, birth injury, severe maternal complications, or other life-threatening obstetric emergencies. Timely LUCS is therefore important for the safety of both mother and baby.
