Ashikur is a hardworking and ambitious 18-year-old SSC examinee who dreams of completing his education and building a better future for his family. He lives with his father, Lutfor (40), mother Nasrin (35), and younger sister Nusaiba (9), while his father is the sole earning member and works as a daily laborer, earning only around USD 57 per month, making expensive medical treatment unaffordable. After suffering severe burns from a gas cylinder flame accident, Ashikur developed infected wounds on his chest and a serious infection in his left ear, causing persistent pain and affecting his daily life and studies. Without timely surgical treatment and skin grafting, the infection could worsen and cause permanent tissue damage, severe scarring, disability, or life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a community outreach program conducted by Anowar and Meghlal, giving them hope for Ashikur’s recovery.

Ashikur Rahman, was admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital and Diagnostic Center on 23 June 2026 after sustaining a severe gas cylinder explosion burn injury. The explosion caused extensive burns involving the lower neck, upper abdomen (anterior chest and upper abdominal region) & the left ear. He presented with severe pain & burning sensation with marked tenderness over the affected areas. Following a detailed clinical evaluation, he was diagnosed with a 1.5-month old post-burn granulating wound involving the anterior chest & upper abdomen, along with Perichondritis of the left ear. Considering the severity of his condition and the significant risk of serious infection and potentially life-threatening complications, he successfully underwent Wound Debridement and (STSG) on 24 June 2026. The procedure involved thorough surgical removal of infected and non-viable tissue, followed by skin grafting to provide definitive wound coverage, promote healing, and prevent further complications. During his 12-day hospital stay, Mr. Rahman received close medical observation, comprehensive postoperative care, necessary medications, regular wound dressing & medical supervision. His condition improved steadily throughout the treatment period, and the skin graft showed satisfactory healing with progressive wound recovery. He was discharged from the hospital on 03 July 2026 in a stable and significantly improved condition. With appropriate follow-up care, wound management, and adherence to medical advice, he is expected to make a full recovery and gradually return to his normal daily activities. Ashikur's post-burn wound over the anterior chest with cartilage infection of the left ear requires urgent wound debridement and split-thickness skin grafting (STSG) to remove infected tissue, With timely surgery and proper post -operative care the wound is expected to heal well, the infection can be controlled & the risk of long-term disability. With deformity will be significantly reduced. improve mobility of the chest area & allow him to return to normal daily activities.
