Background
Jennifer is a 2-year-old girl. One year ago, hot water burned her. The healed wound formed scar tissue across her external genitalia and thighs. This scar tissue causes a severe perineal deformity and labial fusion. As a result, her vaginal opening is closed, and she has difficulty when she urinates and defecates.
Prognosis
Medical examination confirms that Jennifer has a severe perineal deformity and labial fusion from burns. This condition changes her body shape and causes severe functional problems. The outcome is uncertain, but reconstructive surgery and physical therapy can improve her health.
