Rezwan Afridi is a 16-year-old cheerful and ambitious boy who loves playing football and dreams of starting his own business to support his family. He lives with his mother and younger sister in a rented room at Bihari Camp, while his mother is the sole earning member, running a small roadside tea stall and earning only BDT 8,000 (approximately USD 65) per month, making the cost of urgent medical treatment unaffordable. Rezwan suddenly developed high fever, cough, and vomiting, which progressed to severe abdominal pain, reduced urine output, and Dengue Shock Syndrome with Pneumonia, requiring emergency hospital care. Without timely treatment, his condition could rapidly worsen, leading to severe shock, respiratory failure, organ damage, or death. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp in Geneva Camp, which helped connect Rezwan to the treatment he urgently needed.

Hospitalization with IV fluids, parenteral antibiotics, daily CBC and other necessary investigations, close monitoring, and supportive therapy is expected to stabilize Rezwan’s circulation, control the infection, and support recovery from dengue shock syndrome with pneumonia. With timely treatment and careful observation, his vital condition and respiratory symptoms are expected to improve gradually. If his condition deteriorates, ICU support may be required. Without prompt treatment, he is at risk of worsening shock, severe respiratory distress, organ dysfunction, and other life-threatening complications.
