Ankon Barmon is a polite and cheerful 6-year-old boy who loves playing with his friends and dreams of attending school regularly and building a better future. He lives with his family of four in a modest tin-made home, while his father is the only earning member and works as a daily wage laborer, earning approximately USD 41 per month, which is barely enough to cover their basic needs. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Sadika Rahman and sought support because they cannot afford the cost of treating Ankon’s condition. He has been living with a right-sided congenital inguinal hernia for two years, which has become increasingly painful over the past month. Without timely treatment, the hernia may become trapped or strangulated, causing severe pain, intestinal complications, and potentially a life-threatening emergency.

The patient, Ankon Barmon was admitted to City Clinic on 09th August 2026. A successful Herniotomy operation was performed the same day. The child progressed well and were discharged on 13th August 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.

Doctors have advised that Akon Barmon needs a herniotomy with repair, a surgical procedure that can completely correct his inguinal hernia and save him from further complications. With timely surgery, the pain and swelling will disappear, allowing him to return to school, play freely with friends, and grow up healthy and strong. Doctors are optimistic that after the operation he will recover well and live a normal life without long-term problems. However, if the condition is right untreated, the hernia may become trapped and cut off blood supply to the intestine, leading to severe pain, infection, and internal damage. In such situations, the condition can quickly become life-threatening, making this surgery not only important but potentially life-saving for Akon Barmon.
