Rafi Islam is a cheerful and precious 16-day-old baby boy whose arrival has filled his parents and sister with love and hope for a brighter future. His father is the family's only earning member, working as a daily laborer and earning only BDT 5,000 per month, while the six-member family lives in a small tin-shed house, making it impossible to afford the cost of hospitalization, oxygen therapy, and medicines. Early and complete treatment will help clear the infection, improve his breathing, and prevent long-term damage to her lungs. However, if the child is left untreated, the pneumonia may rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing failure, blood infection (sepsis), or even death. At such a young age, delays in treatment greatly increase the risk of permanent complications or loss of life.
