Afjal All Hasan is a hardworking, responsible, and ambitious 17-year-old young man who dreams of continuing his education, supporting his parents, and building a better future for his family. He lives with his parents, two sisters, and two younger brothers in a family of seven, while his father is the only earning member, working as a day labourer and earning only BDT 5,000 per month, making it impossible to afford the cost of surgery while also meeting the family's daily needs and educational expenses. As the swelling and pain from his right inguinal hernia gradually worsened, Afjal found it increasingly difficult to work, study, and carry out normal activities, causing great concern for his family. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Redwan, giving them hope that Afjal could receive the surgery he urgently needs. Without timely treatment, the hernia may become trapped or strangulated, cutting off the blood supply to the intestine and leading to severe pain, intestinal damage, life-threatening complications, and the need for emergency surgery.

According to the treating doctor, the recommended surgery is expected to permanently repair the hernia, relieve the pain, swelling, and discomfort, and allow Afjal to return to his normal daily activities without restrictions. Following successful treatment, he is expected to make a full recovery and enjoy an improved quality of life with a very low risk of future complications. However, if the hernia is left untreated, it may become incarcerated or strangulated, causing severe pain, intestinal blockage, loss of blood supply to the trapped intestine, and other life-threatening complications requiring emergency surgery.
