Yasin is a 14-year-old boy studying Hifz at a madrasa who lives with his parents in government housing, as the family has no permanent home of their own. His mother, Sharmin, works irregularly as a domestic helper, while his father, Kamal , drives a van and works as a daily labourer, earning only about BDT 5,000 per month—leaving the family unable to afford Yasin’s necessary surgery. Yasin is now suffering from extensive burn wounds on his right hand and below his left knee, causing pain and restricting his movement. Without proper surgical treatment, the wounds may become infected, fail to heal properly, and lead to permanent scarring or loss of normal movement in his hand and leg. For this struggling family, financial assistance is essential to give Yasin the treatment he needs to heal, regain his mobility, and return to his studies and normal daily life.

Md. Yasin Arafat, a 14-year-old boy, was admitted to Al-Aqsa Hospital & Diagnostic Centre on 21 June 2026 with 20-day-old burn wounds over the dorsum of his right hand and below-knee region. Following clinical evaluation, wound excision and split-thickness skin grafting (STSG) were successfully performed on 22 June 2026. He received 10 days of hospital care, including wound dressing, medications, pain management, and infection prevention. His condition improved satisfactorily, and he was discharged in stable condition on 30 June 2026 with advice for regular follow-up and continued care. Md. According to the doctor, wound excision and split-thickness skin grafting (STSG) will remove the damaged tissue and provide healthy skin coverage, allowing the burn wounds to heal properly. Timely surgery is expected to reduce pain, prevent infection, improve movement of the right hand and left leg, and minimize the risk of permanent disability. If left untreated, the wound may develop severe infection, including cellulitis, progressive gangrene, or bone infection (osteomyelitis).
