Khadiza Akter is a 4-year-old girl from Fulgazi, Feni, who developed high-grade fever and cough followed by repeated seizures and nasal bleeding. She lives with her parents in a tin-made, mud-floored house, and her father is the sole earning member of the family, working as a CNG/auto-rickshaw driver and earning approximately USD 74 per month. With no agricultural land or other source of income, the family cannot afford the cost of Khadiza’s medical treatment. She was diagnosed with epilepsy with pneumonia and epistaxis, with fever, rapid breathing, lung crepitations, and oxygen saturation of 92%, making timely treatment necessary to prevent further deterioration. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer ABM Alamgir.

Initial hospitalization with complete clinical and laboratory investigations, including CBC, CRP, chest X-ray, dengue tests, EEG, and MRI brain, will help evaluate Khadiza’s condition and guide appropriate management. IV antibiotic therapy, close monitoring, IV fluids, and other supportive treatment are expected to control the infection and reduce the risk of further seizures and complications. Oxygen support will be provided if required, and ICU care may be needed if her condition deteriorates. With timely treatment, she has a better chance of stabilization and recovery. Without treatment, recurrent seizures, worsening pneumonia, low oxygen levels, and respiratory or other serious complications may become life-threatening.
