Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Mahi Ahmed is a 13-year-old boy from a financially struggling family who lives with his parents and four younger siblings. His father is the sole breadwinner, working as a day labourer and earning only approximately USD 41 per month, which is insufficient to meet the needs of the family and cover Mahi’s treatment expenses. Mahi is an active child, but his right groin swelling and pain have progressively worsened, making walking, playing, and daily activities increasingly difficult; the family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Redwan Hussen Shiplu while seeking assistance. He was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia and requires hospitalization and right-sided herniotomy. If left untreated, the hernia may become incarcerated or strangulated, cutting off the blood supply to the trapped intestine and potentially causing bowel damage, severe infection, and a life-threatening emergency.

Prognosis

According to the treating physician, right-sided herniotomy is recommended to repair Mahi’s inguinal hernia and prevent further complications. With successful surgery and proper follow-up, the swelling, pain, and heaviness are expected to resolve, allowing him to return to normal walking, playing, and daily activities. If left untreated, the hernia may progressively enlarge and cause increasing discomfort. It may become incarcerated or strangulated, cutting off the blood supply to the intestine and potentially causing intestinal obstruction, tissue damage, severe infection, or a life-threatening surgical emergency.
